Capstone / TEACHING GUIDE

Make a project worth explaining

A prototype is only part of the story.

March–May 2026 classroom sequence

A teaching sequence

  1. Propose and pitch

Research ideas, explain the intended behavior, identify inputs and outputs, and present a feasible design. Choose a team and get approval before construction.

  2. Build in milestones

The agendas progress from brainstorming and proposals to team formation, repeated prototype checkpoints, final testing, and presentations. Use the notebook to make each work session visible.

  3. Test and revise

Record what works, what fails, and what changed. A narrower working design is a useful result when its constraints are explained.

  4. Tell the engineering story

The final narrative prompt asks for the project overview, inputs/processing/outputs, design evolution, code and circuit decisions, and an honest account of results and improvements.

Source & adaptation

Adapted from 2026 daily agendas and the final narrative assignment included with student submissions.

Use this as a planning guide and adapt it to your equipment, students, and timetable.
